Prince Edward Island's Provincial Nominee Program: the PEI Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP)

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) is Prince Edward Island's pathway for nominating candidates for Canadian permanent residence, administered by the province's Office of Immigration through an online Expression of Interest (EOI) system. It targets skilled and critical workers who already have a job offer from a PEI employer, recent graduates of Island post-secondary institutions, entrepreneurs willing to invest in and actively manage a business on the Island, and candidates already in the federal Express Entry pool whose skills match PEI's labour market needs.

Active Prince Edward Island streams

• Express Entry stream — for candidates who already hold a valid Express Entry profile and whose skills align with PEI's labour market needs; no PEI job offer is required. This is PEI's only Express Entry-aligned stream: a nomination adds 600 CRS points to the candidate's profile and virtually guarantees an Invitation to Apply (ITA) at the next federal draw.
• Labour Impact: Skilled Worker stream — a base stream for candidates with a full-time job offer from a PEI employer in a skilled occupation that normally requires a post-secondary credential, plus at least two years of full-time work experience in that occupation within the past five years. Candidates apply directly to the province; no Express Entry profile or CRS score is required.
• Labour Impact: Critical Worker stream — a base stream for candidates with a job offer from a PEI employer in a designated high-demand occupation (such as truck driver, food or beverage server, or housekeeping attendant) and at least six months of full-time employment with that employer. Candidates apply directly to the province.
• Labour Impact: International Graduate stream — a base stream for recent graduates of an eligible PEI post-secondary institution who hold a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) and a job offer from a PEI employer related to their field of study. Candidates apply directly to the province.
• Labour Impact: Intermediate Experience stream — a base stream for candidates with a permanent, full-time job offer from a PEI employer backed by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), in an intermediate-skilled occupation (NOC TEER 4), plus at least six months of related full-time Canadian work experience. Candidates apply directly to the province.
• Labour Impact: Occupations in Demand stream — a base stream for candidates with an LMIA-backed, full-time job offer from a PEI employer in a designated in-demand occupation at the entry-level or labourer skill level (NOC TEER 4 or 5). Candidates apply directly to the province.
• Business Impact: Work Permit stream — a base stream for entrepreneurs with a minimum verifiable personal net worth of CAD $600,000 and relevant business ownership or senior management experience, who commit to investing at least CAD $150,000 in a PEI business and actively managing it from within the province before receiving a nomination.
